Is the firewood dry?
Our firewood is fully seasoned and dried, meaning the natural sap has evaporated, allowing it to burn cleanly and efficiently. Some hardwoods can take up to two years to season properly.
Because the wood is stored outdoors, you may occasionally receive a few pieces that are damp from rain. Simply set these aside for a week or so to dry, and they’ll be ready to burn.
How much Firewood do I need?
Depending on your household and heating habits, you may need anywhere from 2 to 10 cubic metres of firewood each year.
As a general guide, for a family of four who uses their fire at night and on weekends, we recommend:
• 1 cube of pine for easy fire‑starting
• 4 cubes of mac, gum, or mānuka for long, hot, reliable burns

When should I buy Firewood?
Plan ahead and secure your firewood early — we recommend stocking up and stacking it away before Easter to guarantee you’re ready for the colder months. Order now for the best availability.
How should I store my Firewood?
Firewood needs airflow to stay dry and burn efficiently. Do not store your firewood in fully enclosed spaces such as garages or sheds without ventilation.
For best results, store your firewood:
• Off the ground
• In a well‑ventilated, covered area
• Somewhere the sun can reach it
• Protected from rain but open to air circulation
Pine in particular absorbs moisture easily and may develop white surface mould. This does not affect its burning ability. However, if you are sensitive to mould or have asthma, we recommend keeping pine stored outside the home until you’re ready to use it.
We sell by cubic metre, for those using old measurements a cord is 3.6 cubes.
